Deception is the major tool used to continuously insure social conformity to destructive and completely unnatural (violent) lifestyles.

To understand why this is so and what purpose it serves, we need to understand the pyramidal (elite control) structure of modern global human society.

At the top is the ruling elite, internationally syndicated. It maintains its position by proven deception scripts that keep the majority continuously devitalized. These policies (or deception scripts) form the basis of elite power and we refer to them as 'The Rule of Genocide'.  (When we speak of genocide, we do not speak of it in the limited sense of annihilation of a group or race, but rather in its most general sense which is to devitalize, repress, suppress, oppress, etc.)  Genocide then, is the  practice of devitalizing  a group or groups. And this devitalizing program is implemented by numbers of cultural deceptions including monetary/economic deceptions, sovereign nation-state deceptions (so-called 'nation states' are hardly sovereign), historical and historical process deceptions, and cultural and natural history deceptions.

At the bottom of the pyramid is the disenfranchised majority. Deception scripts keep the majority disenfranchised by insuring they are incapable of knowing (and thus acting in) ways that would restore natural abundance, joy, peace, etc.

The structured relationship of dominant and all powerful elite to disenfranchised majority is maintained by: surveillance, factioning, false flag terrorism and a general milieu of disinformation (deception). By the continuous application of these principles; wars are generated, people are terrorized (and convinced that the most innocent amongst them are responsible), moneys/resources are appropriated to expand the police state apparatus and military agencies, and a general 'fear sense' is engendered, nurtured and directed.
